Personal Telephone Integration
TELEPHONE INTEGRATION
Bluetooth® enabled Freelander 2 offers a fully integrated mobile phone system as a factory fit option on some models. With this system, the user can connect a Land Rover approved mobile phone handset to the vehicle and access many of the important functions via the vehicle´s keypad and steering wheel switches.

Pairing your telephone

Before its first hands-free use, the phone must be ´paired´ with the vehicle (please refer to user vehicle handbook or contact your dealer to learn how). This simple process authorises data transmission between the phone and the phone module, which is unique to each car. Up to five phones can be paired and stored in the Bluetooth® phone system´s memory.

Features of the Bluetooth® system (dependent on phone handset capability) include:

  • Automatic muting of the audio system
  • Routing of calls through the audio system
  • Access through the audio display and controls to functions including:
    • Call accept / reject / secrecy / end
    • Last ten calls made, received or missed
    • Phone book memory search
    • Voice dialling
    • Voicemail
    • Ringer volume
    • Number dialling via preset buttons
Which handsets and software versions?

Land Rover engineers have tested and recommended the following handsets to meet our very high quality standards. (Please note that not all Bluetooth® enabled mobile phone handsets are compatible with the Land Rover PTI. This is due to the wide range of uses for Bluetooth® in the latest high technology.) This list will be updated as the handset market changes.

How to connect

The Personal Telephone Integration system is also Bluetooth® enabled, allowing calls to be made via voice control, steering wheel operation or touch-screen. You can also enter (or update) phone name tags with the sound of your voice, and control the audio system and interior cabin climate via spoken command.
